S5 Time Dependent Calibration Factors: α, β

(Version: 1, Release 2)

Time dependent calibration factors, γ(=αβ) and α, for all three LIGO IFOs are calculated for the first epoch (V1) of the S5 data, by using the S5V1 frequency domain calibration. This epoch covers the duration up to the gps time 824791239 (04:40:25UTC, Feb. 24, 2006) from the beginning of the S5 run.  This is the second release of calibration factors, which includes the first release. Scripts used are GetFactorV1.m and WriteFactorFiles.m. Input files for these scripts are available on the clusters - LLO (mout, dat) and LHO (mout, dat).

DQ flag lists are also generated for each factor IFO. These lists are produced for the online segment list (L1, H1, H2) of the science mode ONLY although calibration factors are obtained based on the list of conlog UpTime longer than 60 seconds. Factor values outside the physical boundary, which is given below from the V1 calibration model, are zeroed out and included in the DQ lists. The DQ lists also include the outliers near the end of science mode which are shown as red dots in each time dependence plots.

Time dependences of αβ (γ) and α with non-zero values are shown in the plots for science mode segments only. Red dots with zero γ values in those plots are out of the physically allowed region, so set to be zero. Red data points with non-zero γ values are the outliers at the beginning or end of science modes.  Histograms of calibration factors and other related plots are given as links below each plot.

A whitening filter was added to the DARM_CTRL channel on Jan. 31, 2006 (LHO, LLO). In the factor calculation, the dewhitening filter was applied to the channel to correct the whitening filter effect on the calibration
